Samsung Electronics plans to release its Blue Earth solar-powered handset later this year in Europe. The phone is pebble-shaped, free from hazardous substances and made out of recycled water bottles. It is attractive in style and eco-friendly without compromising features, product design nor UI (user interface).
Nanotechnology is an expected future manufacturing technology that will make most products lighter, stronger, cleaner, less expensive and more precise. A nanotechnology concept, Morph, demonstrates the functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics, self-cleaning surfaces, ability to observer local environment and harvest energy. Nokia Remade: Prototype 100% recycled phone concept device made from materials already on this planet, nothing new was manufactured.
Nokia has released a short video showing a new concept from their design team exploring how recycled materials could be used to make mobiles in the future. The idea behind the “remade” concept was to see if it was possible to create a device made from nothing new. It has been designed using recycled materials that avoid the need for natural resources, reduce landfill, and allow for more energy efficient production.
GLOBAL – A couple of weeks ago we posed you the question, what do you think is the most important aspect of eco phones? The poll has now closed, the votes have been tallied up, and the results are in… http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/02/23/eco-phones-poll-the-votes-have-been-counted Via: Nokia Conversations
